    Positive Big Bear, our host, looked after us extremely well. He helped us with information about walking the trail. He also helped making a reservation at a local restaurant, Manpuku Shokudo, where we enjoyed great food and hospitality. And he ensured we got there and back safely.

He essentially acted as our guide, helped us see the Sandankyo gorge by adapting our schedule to the weather. He took us up to climb Mt. Shinnyu and showed us other beautifu
