Positive It was just a lovely experience. The staff were friendly, location is good and breakfast was excellent. There was absolutely no disruption or noise at all due to renovations. Initial room was not quite right for a ten day stay and they kindly relocated me to an alternate bright and cosy room instead. Up another flight of stairs but well worth it.

Positive Second annual stay with the Royal this month and it was lush as always. The room was clean and cosy with a flatscreen TV, chunky duvet, kettle for cuppa's and staff that can't do enough for you! Breakfast was amazing and compliments to all of the team :) I know there's loads of reviews mentioning the 'outdated' (ie Sturdy, resilient and time-served) furnitur

Positive Staff was extremely accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is undergoing renovations and eventually will be great. Bathroom shower is a step up situation and needs to more accessible for older guests. Location is perfect. Loved waking up to the sound of seagulls!
